Blood of Zeus: You should stream it

If you think animated films/series are for kids only, think again!

There is beauty in having to watch an animation for 18+, and we are not even talking about the x-rated ones.

I am really hooked with it and most of my ‘to watch list’ on Netflix are animated. One that got me really hooked was Castlevania which already had their third season and I am looking forward to the fourth! Now there is a fresh Netflix release of another adult animated series called Blood of Zeus.

I just recently finished the series and damn it was really good! The Greek mythology was already a plus factor for me added with an amazing story line. I love how the series was narrated and stayed true to the mythology story although there have been various versions, they depicted the most common God & Goddesses narrative. It even became exciting towards the end during the fight scenes between the Gods vs. Titans (spoilers)! I am telling you it was intense! I am already looking forward to a second season. Check out Blood of Zeus on Netflix now!

February Hindsights

February has the shortest days among all months in the calendar. It is such of great irony that I usually get to do a lot in February. If you see my old posts, I always have a February entry. This 2019, I vouched that I would dedicate a time to update this blog from time to time. Just to keep me sane on things. Writing has been very therapeutic to me as I always say in my way previous posts.

So what have I enjoyed doing aside from work? 🙂

I finished 3 series from Netflix.

1.Kingdom – It’s a suspense thrilling, South Korean period film about zombies. Yes, zombies during the Joseon dynasty. If you have seen another South Korean movie Rampant you can see a similarity to this series. What I like about the movie is that it lets you think in every scene and always get you thrilled and excited in almost every part. No boring moments I tell you!

I also have an affinity to this because of the actor playing the lead role — Ju Jihoon who played the role of an exiled prince claiming his rightful throne in the kingdom. Since last year he has made a slow comeback from a long hiatus in film. All of his comebacks are really good. Watch Along with the Gods in two parts. Also, one of my favorite Korean actresses who also made it to Hollywood is Doona Bae. She’s Sun from Sense8 — also a Netflix series, it’s one of the top series I really really love. Doona played a physician in Kingdom whom will also work alongside the prince to unravel the mysterious plague that is about to eat the whole land. Korean films present great cinematography. If you have not watched a Korean drama or movie, Google one popular title and watch. You’ll probably get addicted and if not, it might be because you got tired of reading subtitles or it’s just not your cup of tea.

2. Titans (DC) – So, this Titans series from DC’s adaptation of Teen Titans is really cool. This ain’t for kids coz they took out the word “teens” and obviously there are violent scenes not allowed for kiddos.

What impresses me the most is the concrete connections from the whole DC universe. Everything is interconnected and they never left out some characters in DC like how it is greatly linked to Gotham. And when we think of Gotham — Bruce Wayne the eccentric billionaire and his alter ego Batman.

Something to look forward to? Brenton Thwaites who played Robin is one sexy Robin! 🙂

3. The Umbrella Academy – This one really got my interest. Before this was even released I already anticipated this as a popular one considering it is based on a comic book by My Chemical Romance (and I love this band!) frontman Gerard Way and with illustrator Gabriel Bá. I fell for its blurb because of the Xmen-ish theme. I am already biased that I would enjoy this because I am such a sucker for X-men films both animated and not. The concept might not be original but the story made it really interesting and you are always left with questions on every episode. What greatly got my attention to this aside from the story is how diverse the characters are — perfect for a timely cause. My favorite character is Klaus played by Robert Sheehan. I hope they’d get to expound each characters’ story in the next season. Yep, they are on for season 2!

I don’t want to spoil anything so I didn’t say much. I’ll leave it to you. You might not like it or maybe you would as most of the population does. 🙂

So these are how I spent my past time after work in February. Did I mention I got to read 3 books to? I told you February made me productive. I probably just had a down time at work but I didn’t watch these or even read my books at work. I got to do it on my free time after work and on my days off.

Part two of my February hindsights about books will be on the next blog! 🙂
